The Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener Gets A Huge Yes From Us!

Featured Image Source

I have naturally straight hair even when my hair air dries, so I’ve long had a love/hate relationship with hair straightening irons. I’ve gone years without using one, but then I’ll go get a professional blowout and they’ll use a straightener to smooth my hair out, I realize how much better it looks, and I’m hooked again.

My main complaints about straighteners are:

  1. I don’t like the extra time it takes

  2. I know it’s damaging to my fine, thin hair

So when I started to see that Dyson came out with a straightener, I was intrigued. I love the Dyson Airwrap because I could honestly feel the difference in the health of my hair when I consistently used its low-heat design in place of traditional hair dryers.

Cordless, Sleek Design

The Dyson Corrale straightener has much the same premise — it is touted as being 50% less damaging to your hair. That’s a HUGE plus in my book, as heat damage is really serious on my fine, color treated hair. I also was kind of excited about its cordless design. So I went ahead and made the investment. The Dyson straightener is around $499 so it’s not a small investment, but I knew that if it didn’t work out for me, either of my two curly-haired daughters would be very thankful for the gift.

Since my purchase, I have used the straightener several times — mostly when I’m going out to an event or doing a zoom video where I want to look my best. I have found that the long battery life (30-40 minutes of continuous use) and cordless design are life changing!

Why aren’t more products made this way? The straightener looks sleek and modern on my bathroom vanity, so nice in fact that I leave it there even while all my other gadgets are always put away in a drawer. While my daughters were visiting over the holidays, they used it every day and both loved it. It works equally well on my fine, straight hair and their curls.

Enthusiastic Thumbs Up For The Dyson Hair Straightener

Another great feature of the Dyson straightener is the manganese copper alloy heating plates. They have the ability to flex or bend, which makes it much easier to straighten larger sections of hair.

It also has sensors built in which respond to the thickness, texture, and length of your hair so that you get the exact amount of heat you need. It heats up super fast and displays the temp and battery remaining right on the LED screen so you never have to wonder if you have enough “juice” to finish your straightening job.

Regarding safety, Dyson is second to none. The Corrale straightener automatically shuts itself off after 10 minutes of non-use and it latches closed, sealing the heat plates to prevent burns or damage to anything. And of course, any Dyson product comes with their hassle-free warranty for repairs or replacements making your substantial investment feel more secure.

Overall, the Dyson straightener feels like a professional hair tool. It’s heavier than one might expect because of the substantial lithium ion battery. It includes a heat resistant pouch for travel and for safe storage when it’s still warm. They really thought of everything, and I think it justifies the investment.
