We never had a mudroom when I was growing up, but that was also why we tromped snow, slush, and mud through the house on a regular basis. Now, we’ve learned the errors of our ways. A mudroom may be something of a new invention, but it’s one of the most important rooms of your house.
Just take your entryway or alcove in that space by the garage or front door and make it into a little mudroom area. Be sure to include hooks for coats and a spot for all those muddy boots and shoes.
