I don’t know about you, but the idea of a tropical vacation sounds like heaven right now. Because of the pandemic, we haven’t been able to travel to any of our favorite warm destinations for two years now, and the itch for some sunshine and sandy toes is REAL.

In anticipation of that first day back at the beach, we’ve pulled together a list of all the resort wear trends happening now. Let’s be honest, 2019’s beach look just isn’t it anymore. And with so many cute things happening with resort wear, trust me, you’ll want to revamp a few of your favorite vacation looks. Here are our favorite vacation wear trends for 2022:

Dopamine Dressing

After a couple years of sweats and leggings, “dopamine dressing” is our favorite colorful fashion trend of 2022. And where better to sport bright colors than at your favorite resort this year? These ‘fits will brighten not only your mood, but every room you enter!

I think when the Versace Medusa Aevitas platform pumps went viral, everyone became platform obsessed. Leave those 2018 platform sandals you know and love behind, though – the trend now follows more of a Y2K look with patent leather and satin finishes.

Maxi Dresses

I’ve always loved a good maxi dress for the tropics. They’re flowy and comfy – plus, they give my legs some protection from the sun. And the iconic “walking on the beach with my dress blowing in the ocean breeze” requires one of these stunners to achieve!

Giant Bags

I never bought into the micro bag trend of the last few years because I just have TOO much stuff. A girl has got to be prepared for anything, eh? So this year’s hot new giant bags make the perfect beach bag to hold all your resort essentials — sunscreen, coverup, sandals, juicy romance novel, phone, and hotel key, with room to spare.

60’s Mod

I love this trend so much, probably because I didn’t live through 60’s fashion the first time around. Mini skirts, psychedelic fabric patterns, space dye, metallics, cutouts, and mod looks are all trending right now. This is one resort trend that you can carry over to everyday.
