It’s that time of year — when we can throw open the windows and doors and enjoy the fresh air. One of my favorite ways to spend a summer evening is by listening to a concert in the park. Here in Atlanta, Chastain Park hosts an outdoor concert series that can’t be beat. Concert goers can bring their favorite food and bevvies and spend the evening under the stars – well fed and content.
The crowd really gets into it as well, even bringing china, candlesticks, linen napkins, and real silverware. While you don’t need to go all out to get an upscale experience, there are a few things you can bring to make the experience more comfortable. Here’s what to take to a concert this summer!
Backpack Beach Sand Chair
A lightweight chair you can carry from the car to the park is a must.
Round Picnic Blanket
The trick to a comfy picnic is to bring an extra blanket, just for the food. A round blanket like this one will serve as a handy little buffet table.
Folding Camping Table
If mobility issues mean a picnic on the ground isn’t possible, a camping table can keep you comfortable in the great outdoors.
Backpack Cooler Bag
The trek from the car to the venue always feels three times longer when you’re lugging in your stuff. Make it easier by bringing your food in this handy backpack.
Carry All Utility Tote
It’s the little extras that make a picnic special, so use this tote bag to carry salt and pepper shakers, napkins, utensils, bug spray, or portable fans.
Bento Box
Instead of hauling a bunch of serving ware to the park, pack a bento box. I’d pack one for each person, then one box filled with crudite or fresh fruit.
We love outdoor activities, and it’s helpful to know what to take to a concert or other outside event. Tell us what you pack in the comments!
