Since its creation in 1985, the luxury Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has promoted Italian culture and heritage in a unique way. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are known for their love of handmade items, exquisite attention to detail, impeccable craftsmanship, and artisanal flair.

Beginning with their runway debut, the duo’s vision has expanded from haute couture women’s clothing to include accessories, menswear, children’s clothing, beauty products, and more. Dolce & Gabbana’s evolution is turning the principles, values, and concepts they hold dear into a way of life.

Always supporting local artisans, Dolce & Gabbana worked with Baci Perugina to create Dolce Vita, a gourmet praline that includes a whole hazelnut, lemon, and a hint of vanilla with white chocolate. They have also partnered with other renowned Italian food makers.

Artisan painters personalized Dolce & Gabbana sneakers during the opening of their sneaker boutique in 2017 and, now, several accessories can be personalized by ordering online.

Smeg, the Italian appliance brand, joined with Dolce & Gabbana to create the “Sicily is My Love” collection. This unique product line features small appliances including blenders, toasters, mixers, juicers and more, each embellished with Sicilian decorative art. One-hundred hand-painted Smeg refrigerators made a limited edition lot, while gas ranges, range hoods, and refrigerators are offered by retailers today.

In early 2022, the brand announced the creation of the Dolce & Gabbana Beauty division, the first Italian fashion house to create, produce and market its beauty products in-house. Several Italian manufacturers are already lined up to produce makeup products and fragrances for the new division.

The Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a beautiful Venetian landmark building, was taken over by Dolce & Gabbana in August, 2021 to showcase the launch of Casa, their first home collection.

Dolce & Gabbana’s new Casa collection encourages customers to create vibrant, personalized spaces that reflect who they are in their homes. “You need only to behold one of our furnishings or caress a fabric to immediately perceive its foundational values: impeccable craftsmanship, love for the fatto a mano (handmade), respect for tradition and the quest for innovation. The senses of sight, touch, hearing and smell are constantly stimulated by our creations, which all contribute to the dream of building a habitat tailored to your personality, your passions and your tastes,” said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

In keeping with their long-time support of Italian craftsmen, the pieces of the Casa collection feature the work of Murano glassmakers and Venetian textile houses, along with hand-painted Sicilian ceramics, hand-loomed brocades, wood carving and fine cabinetry.

The Casa collection features four signature motifs: Carretto, Leo, Mediterranean Blue, and Zebra. Dolce & Gabbana’s goal with their Casa line is to create a space, not only accent it.

A wide array of pieces inhabits the Casa selections, which are now available exclusively online but expected to be sold in stores worldwide in the near future. A sampling of the Casa items:

Cabinetry, seating, and tables, along with rugs and stools are some of the larger Casa pieces.

The Italian fashion house has a long history of supporting Italian craftsmen, but they also encourage up-and-coming young fashion designers. During the Milan Women’s Fashion Week in February of 2022, Domenico and Stefano chose to feature Miss Sohee’s newest collection in their own space. She is a 25-year-old demi-couture designer whose dedication to handmade, artisanal creations closely parallels that of Dolce & Gabbana.
