I talk about my boobs a lot.

And I’m going to talk about them as long as my editor allows it. They are a big (lol) part of my life, and although some may consider 34DD’s an asset, I consider them a nuisance.

Why? Good question, dear readers.

Have you ever tried to do a gymnastics floor routine in a tiny leotard with big boobs? How about running full speed 115 ft to a vault? If you have, you feel my literal pain. So, I bid adieu to my gymnast days and focused on tennis, where the required attire was more suited to my figure.

Even then, I encountered problems, because sports bras offer minimal or no reinforcement. Whether you have itty bitties, big naturals, or any size in-between, those babies need the proper support, which you can get in a regular brassiere because of the many sizes.

Sports bras? Not so much.

The choices for athletic hooter holders are basically XS-XL — if you don’t fit into one of those, you’re SOL. Even if you do fit into one, they offer very little support and give some the dreaded uni-boob. You know what I’m talking about if you’re a C-cup or bigger.

Well, not anymore. Adidas is rolling out a line of sports bras with proper breast support for every size out there with the SS22 collection.

“A sports bra is the single most important piece of workout apparel for those with breasts, but 90% of women aren’t wearing the right size,” Adidas says on their website. “That’s why we’ve re-engineered our entire portfolio with 43 new styles, available in 72 sizes, catering to more bodies and workouts than ever before.

According to Adidas, “If breasts aren’t properly supported during running, they can move up to 19cm and could experience the same G force as an F1 driver.”

G-force? That sounds dramatic, but if you’re a big-boobed runner with PMS, you know it’s painful, so it sounds about right.

“This is because there are no muscles in the breast. Instead, it is a lump of tissue that sits in front of the pec muscles, but it is not attached to them. The only natural support the breast has is the skin and the Cooper’s ligaments, which are very thin, stretchy structures that exist to protect the milk-producing parts of the breast, but not to lift and hold it.”

Adidas is making its biggest ever commitment to women with innovative sportswear to fit all members of the athletic world.

“Sports bras are a foundational piece of kit, but research into the category uncovered vast dissatisfaction from women who weren’t being properly supported,” Adidas says.

“That’s why – after comprehensive research and development – we’ve created 43 new styles across 18 product franchises, to give them more choice and help them find the sports bra that’s right for them.”
