Let’s face it, being a mom is hard. It can also be an isolating and overwhelming role where our only social circle is our children, and the only plans we have are domestic. Each day can feel like the last, picking up clothes off the floor and cooking meals they will complain about. It can be a grind. Although it’s the greatest, most rewarding job there is, it’s also called a job for a reason. If you’re finding this completely relatable, I think it’s time to find a book buddy. What do I mean by that? I mean, a book that understands you to the core so much, it feels like the friend you’ve been needing all along.
From stories written by single mothers, to books centered around mental health, there are so many great reads out there for each chapter of your life as a mom. Even in our busiest moments, we still deserve some quiet time to ourselves, and what better use of that time than to get lost in a book!
I’ve listed a few books below that come highly recommended and a few I’ve read during some trying times. Give any of these books a read and you’ll find yourself saying “Amen to that” or “Yes, finally someone gets me” out loud more than you realize.
