So I’ve noticed since I hit my mid 40’s that I get a TON of online ads for beauty devices, specifically anti-aging facial devices. I mean, I get it, but still — I usually just keep scrolling. The Opte Foundation Printer stood out to me because it seemed like a true tech breakthrough and an answer for people like me who don’t wear a ton of makeup or like an overly made up look. It’s not that I don’t love full glam, but to be honest I’m pretty terrible at makeup in general so I need all the help I can get.
How It Works

Avoid lengthy trips to the dermatologist for painful, expensive laser treatments, and say goodbye to creams that are supposed to target your problem areas. The Opte Precision System digitally scans your skin and analyzes your face, especially the spots you’re looking to treat, like sunspots and hyperpigmentation. The system then minimizes their appearance while also treating your skin underneath.
My Thoughts
Pros
-
I have an “age spot” on the side of my face I’ve been trying to get rid of for YEARS. I’ve tried every over-the-counter product as well as having my dermatologist work her magic. Nothing has worked. My doctor said the only thing left is to actually slice it off and the word slice gives me chills so I’ve just been using coverup. The Opte printer covers it completely in about four passes over and I’ve noticed it seems to have faded it. FINALLY. I had another one starting near my nose and the Opte completely got rid of it within two weeks.

The technology seems super legit — it does exactly what it claims to do. For beauty products, that is pretty rare. I go over my whole face 4-5 times before makeup application and all the dark spots are gone like magic.
Cons
-
The Opte works amazing on the flatter planes of your face (like cheeks especially) and forehead; however, it struggles with curved areas like the nose, chin, and around the eyes. If these are your problem areas then you might get frustrated. It’s also not ideal on raised bumps, like a pimple, but for flat acne scars or dark spots it’s perfect.
-
The serum is used up pretty quickly. About 5% per application. So if you were using this every single day, the serum would probably run out in less than a month.
-
While Opte covers all your dark spots and acne scars, it doesn’t seem to recognize basic redness which I have an issue with. So even though my spots get concealed, the redness and skin unevenness still require foundation for me. If all you’re dealing with are some spots, this machine will be a saving grace.
The Final Verdict
I like my Opte and I find I need way less makeup when I use it. I can get by with primer and some foundation powder or a very light application of foundation. So I think it’s worth it, but you will need to decide based on your individual needs. If you like a fresh face look, I say go for it!
