Milk Makeup has been around for years, but only recently has it started to attract a large amount of attention. Its products are great, but the makeup company also supports a variety of causes and believes in diversity. Read on for why I love Milk and will use it til the end.
Inclusivity is Important
Milk Makeup has never been one to shy away from making statements. Their five commitments celebrate people of all sizes and colors. Their #1 commitment: Represent. Within the company, based on 47 employees, BIPOC accounted for 29% of its team, and 2% of its employees identified as gender fluid. Though they haven’t hired since COVID, and the majority of their employees are white, they promise that including BIPOC in executive positions “still remains our goal.”

They also believe in partnering up and giving back. “Out of our 556 photos and videos posted to our social feeds since June 2020, more than 50% of the people we featured are BIPOC.” On top of this, they also donated $50,000 for the NAACP.
In 2017, Milk teamed up with The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Center in NYC, donating 50% of its proceeds from the Glitter Stick to the organization. Talking about the initiative, co-founder Georgia said “when you express who you are completely, you shine the brightest.” Vogue also spotlighted Milk for their blur stick campaign, which showcased a variety of models in the LGBTQ+ community.
TY @milkmakeup for making me feel like a ⭐️ . I was so nervous to shoot this campaign. I ❤️ these photos bc the teams love+support on-set allowed me to stop the doubt, celebrate myself and feel the moment. It felt so damn good. So much gender euphoria looking at these. pic.twitter.com/9eyJhFYE0d

As of January 1st, Milk has also made its shipping box sustainable, made of 100% post-consumer materials. It’s also Sustainable Forestry Initiative certified.
Our Favorite Products
Another cool thing about Milk: all products are vegan, and they don’t test products or ingredients on animals – in fact, they don’t even retail in stores that require animal testing. There are also no parabens; instead, they use ingredients like natural fruit and oils.
Some of our favorite products include the following!
Sunshine Skin Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen
We weren’t kidding when we said they use natural ingredients. This skin tint includes grapeseed, mandarin, and avocado to make you radiate, and its lightweight formula conceals but remains breathable.
Blur Stick
If you have oily skin, then the Blur Stick was made for you. This oil-free product minimizes the appearance of pores without clogging them and mattifies your skin without alcohol, parabens, or sulfates.
Milk Hydro Grip Primer
Primers and setting sprays — or both in one — don’t have to be sticky. The blue agave in the Hydro Grip Primer helps set makeup, while ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, aloe, and hemp-derived cannabis seed extract hydrate and revitalize. No more smears throughout the day when you spray this on.
Sunshine Oil
This oil isn’t just for your skin — rub it onto your hair, your cuticles, your body, anywhere you’re looking for hydration. Made with ingredients including grapeseed, avocado, and lemon peel oils, this convenient click-pen will nourish you like no other.
KUSH High Volume Mascara
You haven’t used mascara like this one before. The fibers are shaped like hearts, which isn’t just cute, but also volumizing. The hemp-derived cannabis seed oil is conditioning, giving your lashes the TLC they deserve. And you can’t forget the Puff Puff brush, which stops clumping and illuminates instead.
Lip + Cheek
I love makeup, and I especially love makeup that’s two-in-one. Enter: Milk’s Lip + Cheek combo product, a sheer tint for your face that requires nothing but gently rubbing it in. Mango butter and peach nectar lock in hydration to give you the ultimate glow.
Vegan Milk Cleanser
Your skin’s pH matters. Oily skin has lower pH levels, while dry skin’s levels are higher. This cleanser works to balance out the pH on both ends of the spectrum with its own pH of 5.5-6.5. Then there’s the hydration from argan milk and Kalahari melon. Washing your skin has never been this moisturizing.
We love Milk, and we think you will too! Have you tried Milk makeup yet? What are your favorite products? Let us know below.
