It’s kind of ludicrous to me that things don’t just stop when it gets cold outside. Like, you’re saying I have to drop kids off at school, go to the grocery store, and still walk the dog in single-digit temps? Whose idea was that, anyway?
If you’re anything like me, you hate being cold. And if you’re anything like most people, you love being cozy (if you don’t, I worry for you). So since cold temps don’t absolve the need to venture outside every once in a while, we found the best cozy coats to keep you warm this year!
Water-Repellent Long Puffer Coat
This puffer coat is long, waterproof, and even has two inner backpack-like straps, in case you want that casual draped look without worrying about your coat falling off your shoulders.
Lynnford Coat In Insuluxe Fabric
The brown and navy versions of this coat are equally stunning, but even more stunning is its Insuluxe fabric, which makes the coat warm and cozy while still being water- and wind-resistant.
Hooded Wool-Cashmere Coat
I’m not sure how a coat can look like it belongs in both NYC and the English countryside, but this one pulls that off effortlessly. Moreover, it’s made of wool and has a hood AND ginormous pockets. Yep, pockets.
Shawl Collar Coat
I would have zero shame in sleeping in this coat, waking up, and immediately wearing it outside. The collar elevates it enough to look like you’re not really wearing a blanket.
Alice + Olivia Samson Faux Shearling Piped Coat
Cruella de Vil but without the puppy hating. Wear this coat with your favorite leather leggings or other edgy-wear to let everyone know you’re not someone to be messed with.
Avec Les Filles Faux Shearling Trench Coat
Speaking of edgy, leather vibes, this coat fits the bill perfectly. Don’t worry about the leather taking away its cozy factor — that’s what the faux shearling lining is for.
Ugg Takara Long Faux Shearling Coat
Full disclosure: I haven’t tried on this coat, but I know it’s cozy. How? Because it was made by Ugg, that’s how. Wear with those boots that have been sitting in the back of your closet since 2007.
Sam Edelman Faux Fur Trim Quilted Parka
Your standard black parka just got an upgrade — the faux fur trim on this one looks cozy enough to replace my neck pillow on my flight home for the holidays.
Mackage Emme Reversible Lined Coat
This is the best reversible piece of clothing I’ve ever seen. Don’t balk at the price tag, because you basically get two coats in one — a plush, white teddy on one side, and a quilted black exterior with plush trim on the other. Wear with literally everything.
