The Most Iconic List Of Halloween Movies Is Here

With Halloween season finally here, we’ve put together a list of classic and new Halloween movies for you and your family to enjoy. We chose our top five favorite Halloween movies from Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix; all of which you can stream immediately after reading this post. We hope you have a spooktacular time streaming these movies this year!


Halloween Movies


  1. Rosemary’s Baby — This film chronicles the story of a pregnant woman who suspects that an evil cult wants to take her baby to use in their rituals. Rosemary’s Baby deals with themes of paranoia, women’s liberation, Christianity/Catholicism, and the occult.
  2. Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein — In this animated adventure, Alvin, Simon and Theodore revel in their new gig at a movie theme park by wandering the grounds after hours. Among the attractions is the spooky Frankenstein’s Castle, where a real mad scientist is bringing a monster to life. But when the boys cross paths with the creature, they soon learn that appearances can be deceiving, and Frankenstein is more misunderstood than malevolent.
  3. Coraline — An adventurous 11-year-old girl finds another world that is a strangely idealized version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets. 
  4. The Addams Family — The Addams Family characters include Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday and Pugsley. The Addamses are a satirical inversion of the ideal American family; an eccentric, wealthy clan who delight in the macabre and are unaware that people find them bizarre or frightening.
  5. The Shining — The Shining centers on the life of Jack Torrance, a struggling writer and recovering alcoholic who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies. Things soon end up taking a horrible turn.

  1. Hocus Pocus — The film follows a villainous comedic trio of witches who are inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night.
  2. Hereditary — This is a 2018 American horror tragedy film written and directed by Ari Aster, in his feature film directorial debut. It stars Toni Collette, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro and Gabriel Byrne as a family haunted by a mysterious presence after the death of their secretive grandmother.
  3. The Nightmare Before Christmas — A 1993 Disney/Touchstone stop-motion animated film directed by Henry Selick and produced/co-written by Tim Burton. This film tells the story of Jack Skellington, a living skeleton from Halloween Town who finds a door to Christmas Town.
  4. Return to Halloweentown — Marnie Piper arrives at Halloweentown University, known to everyone as Witch U. Her best friend Aneesa is a student there too, and before you can say Abracadabra the bewitching pair find themselves in magical mischief and mayhem.                                    
  5. A Quiet Place — The plot revolves around a father (John Krasinski) and mother (Emily Blunt) who struggle to survive and raise their children in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by blind extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing.

Halloween Movies


  1. Bird Box — Bird Box follows a woman, played by Sandra Bullock, as she tries to protect herself and two children from malevolent supernatural entities that make people who look at them go insane and kill themselves.
  2. Insidious — This story centers on a couple whose son inexplicably enters a comatose state and becomes a vessel for a variety of entities in an astral dimension known as “The Further” who want to inhabit his body.
  3. Little Monsters — Brian isn’t scared of the monster living under his bed. On the contrary, when he gets to know the wild-eyed boogeyman, Maurice, the pair become fast friends. During the night, Maurice takes his young charge into the netherworld of monsters, where they have a great time making mischief in the lives of sleeping children. But Brian’s opinion of Maurice and his freewheeling lifestyle changes when he discovers that he himself is turning into a monster.
  4. Polaroid — Polaroid is a 2019 American supernatural horror film directed by Lars Klevberg, and is based on his 2015 short film of the same name. In the film, high schooler Bird Fitcher finds a vintage Polaroid camera that holds dark and mysterious secrets.
  5. Casper — Casper is a kind young ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. When specialist James Harvey arrives to communicate with Casper and his fellow spirits, he brings along his teenage daughter, Kat. Casper quickly falls in love with Kat, but their budding relationship is complicated not only by his transparent state, but also by his troublemaking apparition uncles and their mischievous antics.
