Bourbon Salted Caramel Milkshakes
Thank you love & olive oil for the recipe!
Ingredients
Caramel:
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
1 Tbsp corn syrup
-
Pinch cream of tartar
-
¼ cup water
-
⅔ cup heavy cream
-
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
-
1 + ½ Tbsp bourbon
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
-
¼ tsp sea salt
Milkshake:
-
16 oz. vanilla ice cream
-
⅓ cup bourbon caramel sauce (plus more for garnish)
-
⅓ cup milk
-
2 Tbsp bourbon
-
Whipped cream
Instructions
-
Combine the sugar, corn syrup, cream of tartar, and water in a medium saucepan. Gently stir the mixture over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring it to a boil and cook until the sugar turns a light amber brown. Remove it from the heat and add the cream and butter, whisking vigorously until it’s smooth. Whisk in the bourbon, vanilla, and sea salt. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a jar and refrigerate until it’s ready to use.
-
Scoop the ice cream into a blender. Add the caramel sauce, milk, and bourbon. Blend on medium-low speed until it’s smooth. Add more milk as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
-
To serve, gently warm some of the remaining caramel sauce. Pour some sauce into each glass, then divide the milkshake on top. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and more caramel.
