Stuck on what SPF products to purchase this summer? There are so many on the market that promise sun protection (along with many other added benefits), so we’ve invited three skincare/beauty enthusiasts to give you the full scoop on their favorite SPF products for the summer and why. Hopefully, with these recommendations, you’ll find your holy grail SPF too!
My name is Stacey Colley and I’m a content creator based out of Miami, Florida. I share content around skincare, fashion and my travels. I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
Stacey’s Favorite SPF:
My SPF of choice would be “Black Girl Sunscreen”. I recently picked this up at my local Target when I was packing for my trip to Aruba. It was the best decision I could have made. This sunscreen does not leave a white cast on your face and it is very moisturizing. This sunscreen has jojoba and avocado in it. You literally don’t even need an additional moisturizer because this sunscreen does it all.
Laura Hill is a creative makeup artist with a love of art and people who, after raising her two children as a single parent, changed career paths and landed in the beauty industry almost by accident.
Laura initially went back to school for Graphic and Web Design but found working as a makeup artist in her local Sephora teaching artistry to those living with major life challenges, like hair loss from cancer treatments, facial scarring coverage, and other difficult makeup challenges to be far more gratifying than her previous career in business administration.
Laura’s Favorite SPF:
Having survived a bout with a small skin cancer just under my right eye, I wear sunscreen daily!
There are so many sunscreen options that I like but the one I wear almost everyday indoors and outdoors is Supergoop! I like to mix it up a bit, but for face, my go-to is Supergoop! Glowscreen. It’s works flawlessly by itself or under makeup as a primer. Its pearly finish gives my mature skin a soft, radiant glow, which I love.
For body, I most often wear the Supergoop! Play as it’s non-greasy and it’s fast-absorbing formula feels great and is easy to apply.
In the summer, I also like to mix in a facial or body tint to give myself a little sun-kissed glow.
I’ve been a freelance makeup artist for over 20 years. Makeup, for me, is about enhancing your natural beauty. I love creating everyday looks and educating my clients on products and sharing my passion for skincare. Recently, I’ve been featured as the Biossance Community Spotlight member. That opportunity has allowed me to connect with so many people and share my skincare journey for aging gracefully.
Liz’s Favorite SPF:
The key to any good anti-aging product is, and will always be, sunscreen. Sunscreen should be applied everyday, even if you’re indoors all day. I get asked all the time how much to apply. The amount is the two-finger rule; four, if you’re doing your neck and décolleté. Your sunscreen should be applied right after your moisturizer or facial oil, and right before your makeup.
I have a few favorite sunscreens. The first is the Biossance Squalane+ Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30. This sunscreen is a mineral SPF 30 that is lightweight and never leaves a white cast. It’s good for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and reef safe. The finish is natural yet dewy, and lays beautifully underneath makeup.
The second is the Supergoop! Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40. This has been my go-to sunscreen for summer. This sunscreen has a beautiful, natural glowing finish, so I can go makeup-free and have a gorgeous fresh-faced look. This also makes a great primer for your foundation to give you a beautiful, radiant look. It is great for all skin types and is a clean-chemical SPF 40.
My favorite body sunscreen is by Supergoop! Glowscreen Body SPF 40. Not only do you get amazing protection, but you get a gorgeous, luminous glow to your body. This is the perfect sunscreen for summer and any special occasions where you would like to have a beautiful glowing look for your body.
