I was too curious about this program not to try it. Nearly everyone has heard of Chloe Ting by now – she’s a super successful business woman and YouTuber who is killing the game and, hopefully, my abs. Chloe Ting’s YouTube channel has over 300 videos and 20 million subscribers. She doesn’t just post workouts, either; she also gives health advice, nutrition tips and tricks, and the occasional Q&A. That’s why trying out the Chloe Ting Ab Shredder program piqued my interest.
Why Is Chloe Ting So Popular?

I don’t know why Chloe Ting’s name is on everyone’s lips. I love working out and I usually watch workout videos on YouTube, so I’m no stranger to the hype that some of these fitness influencers can get. Nearly every video I click on promises that I’ll burn 500 calories in 20 minutes and come away with my dream body. Spoiler: that’s yet to happen.
I watched Chloe Ting’s videos when I was first getting into working out. She’s not my favorite fitness YouTuber, but she’s not bad by any means. The repetitive style of her videos doesn’t fit my workout vibe too well. I’ve also never done Chloe Ting’s Ab Shredder program, so I was excited to see if that would make a difference in my perception of her.

I was a bit concerned about Chloe Ting’s Ab Shredder program’s promises. In the end, no one can promise a body. Working out is only a small piece of what creates toned muscles. Even if I copied Ting’s exact diet, sleeping schedule, workout regime, and life, I still wouldn’t have her body. We’re two different people with different genes and different backgrounds.
Mr. London, another fitness influencer, reviewed Ting’s workout and agreed that it was click bait, but that’s the name of the game with YouTube. He said that Ting’s workouts are mostly for people who don’t go to the gym and train all day — they’re more beginner friendly. Chloe Ting also puts a disclaimer in all of her videos:

Unfortunately this may mean that video titles are subjective and shouldn’t be seen as absolute truth. I always hesitate when a fitness influencer promises an audience as large as hers a definitive result. I want to caution those of you who might want those washboard abs and then not get them at the end of two weeks. I’m a very active person and I don’t usually see a radical change in my body. I’m hopeful but not expectant about this challenge; in the end, this ab workout probably won’t transform my life or my body. I’d love for it to, but I’m not putting all my eggs in one basket.
Day 1: 22 Minutes, 32 Seconds
One thing I have learned about doing these weekly challenges is how easy it is the first few days. I really enjoyed the first home workout because it involved a good mix of standing and seated exercises. I prefer to stand in exercises because I usually work out to get some of my energy out. Today was one of the shorter days in the program; it was easy because it took 20 minutes, but I know that once those 40 minute workouts roll around, I’ll not be the biggest fan of Chloe Ting’s program.
Day 2: 34 Minutes, 17 Seconds
I planned to add these workouts to the end of my morning routine, but I wanted to get to work today and one thing led to another, so I’m wrapping up my work day by doing a workout and I love it. It’s a great change of pace from sitting at my desk all day and the workouts aren’t super challenging, so they actually give me a ton of energy. I did the same two workouts that I did yesterday – Chloe gave the option of adding one more workout to the end and I took it because I had just sat all day. I really love doing this challenge right now. It lets me sweat just enough without killing me or making me too exhausted!
Day 3: 47 Minutes, 44 Seconds
I take back everything I said. Not really, but today did teach me that some days are going to be more fun than others. I didn’t feel super challenged by the workout today. My body is getting used to the two standard workouts and the others were not difficult at all. Today just didn’t do it for me. The workouts are getting longer and they don’t seem to have too much of a payoff.
Day 4: 36 Minutes, 59 Seconds
I didn’t hate day 4 of the Chloe Ting Ab Shredder program, but I’m starting to feel dread when it’s time to do the workout. It’s not that the videos are too hard or too challenging, they just take a lot of time and are not super fun. The downfall of doing a 30 day or two week program is that it doesn’t matter what you feel like — you do it. I can tell on days like today when I’m not into the workout because I feel more exhausted even though it wasn’t necessarily difficult. This is one of the moments I wished I loved the workout a little more.
Day 5: Rest Day
Day 6: 37 Minutes, 6 Seconds
Before you ask, I didn’t miss a day. Day 5 was an active rest day, meaning you should do something like a walk or yoga — not the same hard workouts you’ve been doing. I enjoyed the familiarity of the program this morning. I haven’t noticed too much of a difference in my abs yet, but I feel more energized after the workout is done. I think getting into the workout is the problem. I’m on vacation, so I had to drive 30 minutes to a gym today, and nothing about that sentence or experience was appealing. But I’m still going!
Day 7: 47 Minutes, 34 Seconds
This is the first time I’ve listened to Chloe Ting during the workout. I usually listen to a podcast or watch another video because it distracts me, but today I was at the gym and had no distractions, so I listened to Chloe as she told me to push through the pain. I hated this. Workouts can make you sore sometimes, but you really shouldn’t keep going if your body is giving you warning signs like pain. As someone who’s had an unhealthy relationship with working out, it’s not good to hear someone tell me, “All you gotta do is keep pushing and that’s how you get results.” Chloe Ting reaches a wide audience with different backgrounds — she needs to be more aware of the potential struggles of her audience.
Day 8: 40 Minutes, 39 Seconds
I came into this challenge knowing that my body would probably change a bit, but I was still surprised when I did my morning workout and saw distinct abs for the first time in a bit. It was a pleasant surprise because I thought Chloe Ting’s Ab Shredder program wouldn’t make that much of a difference — I was already pretty fit and worked out a lot. Not to mention, I’ve been travelling for the past 2 weeks and I haven’t stuck to my regular workout routine. Today’s workout was okay. I was a little disappointed because one of the workouts was to an Ariana Grande song and I wanted it to be standing abs or a dance workout, but it was still on the floor. I know Ting does a lot of standing workouts, but this program hasn’t had any of them.
Day 9: Rest Day
Day 10: 50 Minutes, 8 Seconds
Once again, I didn’t “miss” a day, there was just an active rest day for day 9. I didn’t love today, but it was good to get up and move halfway through the afternoon. I’m starting to really enjoy these work breaks and I know that even though it’s not the most fun thing to do, I’ll miss it. I understand why so many people don’t finish Chloe Ting’s program. So far, the workouts are usually around 40 minutes. That’s a long time to take out of your day every day. This is clearly a routine that’s made for a couple of weeks, not a lifetime.
Day 11: 25 Minutes, 8 Seconds
I don’t know what happened today, but I died doing this workout. Logically, that shouldn’t happen. It was one of the shortest ones I’ve done — just the two main workouts — but they killed me. I looked at my partner last night and told him what I always say when I’m almost done with challenges, “I’m going to miss this.” While my other challenge videos have been more about lifestyle, the stark improvement I’ve seen Chloe Ting’s Ab Shredder program do to my body makes me actually trust this girl.
Day 12: 47 Minutes, 31 Seconds
Today was hard. A huge downfall of daily programs is that they happen daily. That means when I’m supposed to have a day off from work, Chloe Ting doesn’t care. So, sometimes I have to choose between going on a nice walk with my partner or doing this routine. My partner actually started to work out with me today! Well, he did about 5 minutes and then he said, “you do your thing, crazy girl” and left the room. I will say that my abs do look great, so is it worth it? More to come on that later.
Day 13: 34 Minutes, 7 Seconds
We’re almost done! I’m so excited to finish this routine up. Today for some reason, I didn’t see the definition in my abs like I have before. My body changes every day and that’s why it’s hard to measure progress like this. Today was fun and seemed to go by quickly in comparison to yesterday. I’m really happy to be almost done — I think it’s about time to finish Chloe Ting’s program!
Day 14: 51 Minutes, 9 Seconds
And, of course, the last day was the hardest. It was a tough mental health day for me and I just didn’t really have the extra 50 minutes to work out. I also decided today that there won’t be any before/after pictures. My body changed almost every day during the last two weeks and I don’t think the pictures will be accurate.
I’ve been very open and honest about my body during this workout and today I didn’t love it. I had alcohol last night, so I woke up a little bloated. I also ate a big breakfast this morning and didn’t feel great afterwards. I don’t want to take a picture of me without a shirt on to make me spiral or worry that the results don’t look good, so I’m not going to — and that’s fine!
My Thoughts On Chloe Ting’s Ab Shredder Program
Chloe Ting’s Ab Shredder program did prove me wrong. I doubted I would see a difference in my abs, my strength, or anything. I also thought it would be a lot easier than it was. While the routines weren’t “hard” necessarily, there was a lot of repetition in the workouts that caused me to get those abs.
This being said, I feel mentally worse after doing this routine. I should have taken more days off, I should have paced myself more, I should have done some different things that involved me putting my mental health before the promise of abs. I stand by what I said in the beginning – workouts should be fun.
If you want a workout that literally brings you joy, don’t settle for something less. I found myself looking for Disney dance workouts in the morning just so I could have that little bit of fun in my exercise routine.
All that being said, I doubted Chloe Ting’s program and I will never make that mistake again. While her routine may not work for everyone because everyone is different, it gave me abs, so it “worked” in theory, but the constant and rigorous schedule didn’t “work” for my mental state. So all in all, I probably won’t continue the routine — but I might add in some of her workouts here and there.
