Enjoying the Great Outdoors and Clear Skies of Park City, Utah

If you’re visiting Park City in a time of year without snow, there are still plenty of things to do in the area. The focus of the Park City and Deer Valley areas is definitely on outdoor activities. Most hotels have hiking and biking trails right outside their doors and the views from every direction are beautiful and dramatic.

Where to Stay:

My top choice in town is always the Montage Deer Valley. You just can’t beat the Montage hotels for service, beauty, and amenities. If you stay here, don’t forget to check out the s’mores served by the fire pits every evening and the basement game area with a bowling alley. It’s a super fun way to end the evening. Oh, and they’re dog friendly!
The Stein Erikson lodge is also a good choice in Deer Valley — some of the rooms and residences here have private patio jacuzzis. There are restaurant options and a spa. This hotel is Utah’s ONLY Forbes 5 star hotel. And it definitely shows — it’s impeccable.
Waldorf Astoria Park City — located in town, this hotel has better access to all the shops and restaurants and nightlife of Park City. The restaurants and spa are very highly rated.

Things To Do:

Beyond hiking, Park City in the Spring, Summer and Fall has plenty of options for the adventurous. If hiking and mountain biking is your thing, there are over 150 miles of trails surrounding Park City.
Park City Anglers is a sport fishing guide service if you’d like to try fly fishing along the beautiful waterways of Park City. The Provo River has some of the best fishing options in the country as well as tubing, rafting and boating. The Weber River also has some great whitewater rafting options.
Utah Olympic Park is definitely worth the visit. In the non-snowy months, you can enjoy bobsledding on an official Olympic track, zip-lining, a serious ropes course and tubing down the massive hill. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, this place has everything you want!

High West Distillery is a super cool visit — they teach you everything you’ll ever need to know about bourbon, whiskey and all kinds of spirits. The tour digs into the science and history behind distilling and ends with a tasting for those over 21.
Horseback riding through the hills and trails of Park City is breathtaking and there are plenty of outfitters who offer trail rides. It’s a wonderful way to see the area and experience the views Park City is famous for.

Where to Eat:

Main street in Park City offers over 50 eateries. There is every possible type of cuisine available no matter what you’re looking for. Perhaps one of the most fun options if your visit carries over a weekend is Park Silly Sunday Market. The downtown is closed off to cars and a massive farmer’s market, one of the biggest I’ve ever seen, covers Main Street. Fresh vegetables and fruits, homemade bread, and plenty of other artisan foods are offered in stalls.
