After previously bemoaning my shitty, sparse eyebrows and relegating them to remaining the bane of my facial features, I decided to try one more product.
If it worked, I’d be thrilled. If not, I’d add yet another eyebrow enhancement makeup item to my already overflowing drawer (yes, an entire drawer) dedicated solely to disappointing pomades, pencils, and gel kits.
Not wanting to get my hopes up, I remained skeptical when the iMethod Eyebrow Stamp and Eyebrow Stencil Kit arrived at my doorstep. I’d already tried another brow stamping kit, which shall remain nameless, and the results were less than ideal – it appeared as though I’d taken a brown sharpie marker to my brows.
The iMethod kit is a pomade, which is different from the shoe polish-like powder substance that came with the stamper I mentioned above. It definitely looked a bit more promising!
What Is The iMethod Beauty Kit?
According to Amazon, the distributor of the beauty line, it’s “A game changer for anyone who has ever struggled with filling in their brows!”
Hey, that’s me! It’s relatable as hell, and the struggle is real and daily.
“Do you spend ages perfecting your eyebrows every day? iMethod Eyebrow Stamps offer an easier solution,” says the description.
Some key features include:
WATERPROOF AND SMUDGE-PROOF – Don’t worry about your brows melting or washing away. iMethod Eyebrow Stamp keeps your brows on all day long.
PERFECT ARCHES FOR EVERYONE – There are 10 different stencils to find the perfect arches, and 20 stencils in total for 10 pairs. Suitable for all skin tones and eyebrows. Keep your brows twins.
This all sounds great, but would it work? Read on to find out if I have finally found the Holy Grail of eyebrow assistance!
iMethod Beauty Review
The iMethod kit comes with a ton of stuff, including a wide variety of differently shaped stencils for pretty much every brow shape, a sizable pot of brow pomade, a sponge applicator for stamping, and a dual-ended angled eyebrow brush. Bonus: it comes in a cute little zippered pouch so you can keep all of your tools together!
I picked out the stencils suited to my brow shape, said a little prayer to the eyebrow angels and got to work.
Holding the stencil in place is the most difficult part of the routine – you have to place two fingers at each end to make sure it stays in place, which is kind of a lot, but nothing insurmountable.
Then comes the dip and dab part, where you place the sponge applicator in the pomade and then tap it onto your brow (in between the stencil, of course). I did one pass to start, and I held my breath when I pulled away the stencil – it looked like it was working!
But they still looked a little sparse and undefined, so I made a few more passes (the pomade is buildable) and lo and behold – I had one good eyebrow.
Hallelujah! I have been resurrected as someone with decent eyebrows. I got to work on the other side, using the dual-ended brush to fill in some missing areas and the spoolie to brush any errant hairs into line.
I’m so glad this kit came on our radar – it is the most natural-looking fake eyebrow I’ve come across. So if you are struggling with your eyebrows, I highly recommend the iMethod Eyebrow Stamp and Eyebrow Stencil Kit – it made me a believer.
Bonus Eyeliner Stamp Review
In addition to the stamp kit, they were kind enough to include their Winged Eyeliner Stamp for me to try. And as someone who has thrown many tantrums over attempting to do a passable freehand wing tip look, this was a welcome gift.
It comes with two eyeliner pens, one marked L and one R, so it’s dummy-proof — you clearly know which pen is for which eye and that’s helpful. It is meant to give you perfect, symmetrical wings, and it delivered! The pen is dual-ended with the wing stamp on one side and a liner on the other.
You just stamp the outer corner of the eye where you want your wing and then line your lid to meet up with the stamp — super easy and takes less than 30 seconds.
Now, do I look good with winged eyeliner? Not particularly, but it’s certainly no fault of this product. Having hooded eyes, any eyeliner makes them appear smaller, so I tend to shy away from it.
But if and when I want a perfect winged eyeliner, this will be my go-to, and I highly recommend getting your hands on this stamp!
I was blown away by iMethod Beauty’s eyebrow stamp kit! Do you have a makeup product that exceeded your expectations? Tell us in the comments!
