“You’re using your air fryer for the first time now?”
I got an air fryer for Christmas and was so excited. For someone who writes recipes, my cooking experience is usually just shoving a pizza in the oven. I thought I’d bring my air fryer out for every occasion and it would make every meal easy. But I’ve used it a total of two times (and both to make potato wedges).
If you have air fryer fear like I do, this article is for you! From sweet to savory, we have easy and basic recipes that might just tempt you to bring your air fryer out of its early retirement.
PrintAir Fryer Cinnamon Raisin Bagels
Thank you This Silly Girl’s Kitchen for the recipe!
Ingredients
-
1 ¼ ups self-rising flour
-
⅛ tsp salt
Instructions
-
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. In a large bowl, stir the flour, raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together. Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla and stir the mixture until a loose dough forms.
-
Turn the dough out onto a floured clean surface and knead it until it forms a ball. Divide the dough into four sections and roll each section into balls.
-
Working with one dough ball at a time, roll it into a log about 8-9 inches long. Pinch the ends together to form a circle, then repeat with the remaining dough. This will make four bagels.
-
In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water together.
-
Spray the basket of the air fryer with olive oil spray and lay the bagels in the basket. Make sure they don’t touch each other, you might need to cook in batches.
-
Brush the egg wash all over the tops of the bagels. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the bagels are golden brown on top.

Air Fryer Vanilla Munchkins
Thank you This Silly Girl’s Kitchen for the recipe!
Ingredients
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
4 Tbsp butter (softened)
-
2 eggs (room temperature)
-
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
-
2 tsp vanilla extract
-
2 + ¾ cups all-purpose flour
-
2 tsp baking powder
-
2 Tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tsp salt
Icing:
-
1 cup powdered sugar
-
7 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and the eggs. Whisk until everything is combined.
-
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar together.
-
Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Use your hands to knead the dough until it’s smooth and pliable. Place the dough into the fridge for 1 hour prior to cooking or overnight.
-
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to ½ inch thickness. Use a 1-inch biscuit cutter to cut circles in the dough. Roll the remaining dough scraps into a ball, flatten to ½ inch, and repeat. Cut each donut in half then roll each half into a ball.
-
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 5 minutes. Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray. Arrange the donuts in the air fryer at least ½ inch apart, you may have to do multiple batches. Cook the donuts for 6 minutes flipping them halfway through.
-
While the donuts cook, prepare the glaze. Add the powdered sugar to a small bowl and whisk in the heavy whipping cream until the texture is smooth.
-
Remove the donuts from the air fryer and let them cool for 5 minutes.
-
One at a time, submerge the donuts in the glaze. Place them on a wire rack to let the excess icing drip off and the glaze set.
