Christine Kong is here to save the day for you and your skin! From serums to sunscreens, she has it all figured out for a new and improved skincare routine. These are her top five beauty products that she can’t live without! Enjoy!
1. Essence
I am all about hydration with anti-aging. The more plump and dewy my skin looks, the better. Essence is huge in Korean skincare and for a good reason. Essence helps prepare your skin to absorb maximum efficiency with products/ serums you layer on top. Plus it adds immediate hydration after cleansing.
-
Tata Harper Concentrated Brightening Essence is incredible. It is clean beauty (beauty products made without ingredients shown or suspected of harming human health), and helps with dark spots and uneven skin tone. It is quite pricey though so I only use it in the mornings along with Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.
-
Jurlique Activating Water Essence is also clean and more affordable. Made in Australia, this essence is hydrating, calms my skin, and again, preps it for other serums to layer on top. I use this one in the evening.
2.Vitamin C Serum
Absolute must in your morning routine to fight aging, brighten skin, reduce spots, and defend against environmental stressors. I deal with Melasma so keeping my skin bright and trying to manage those stubborn spots are big concerns for me.
-
Skinceuticals C E Ferulic is amazing! On the pricier side (but it’s 15% vitamin C with vitamin E and ferulic acid) and only downside is that it has a “hot dog” smell to it but it goes away quickly.
-
GoopGlow 20% Vit C & Hyaluronic Acid is really good too. I like that you mix it when you receive it which helps maintain the freshness and stability. It is also 20% Vit C powder and clean beauty.
-
Finally Beauty Counter Counter+ All Bright C Serum is a new one I am trying and loving so far. Made with clean ingredients and 10% blend of two forms of vitamin C, ultra stable and rich in turmeric and camp camp extracts.
3. Hyaluronic Acid
Great for added hydration and use both morning and night. Helps to draw moisture to the surface of your skin and keeps my skin glowing and feeling dewy. My favorites are:
-
Skinmedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator: Love how this works and also has Vit E but on the pricy side. Also not clean beauty.
-
Skinceuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifer: I love the gel-like texture, it goes on super smooth and silky and it is not sticky.
-
OSEA Hyaluronic Sea Serum (clean beauty): Also has three organic seaweeds and is vegan. This was the first hyaluronic serum that blew me away.
4. Face Roller
Great for massaging your face and draining fluid from your face. I’m picky about rollers but these are ones that I keep reaching for:
-
ReFa Carat Face Roller: I love how this one actually feels like it does something (tightens and tones) versus just rolling back and forth. It is on the pricier side but worth it. It’s solar powered for light micro current, platinum coating, and waterproof. Other rollers have broken on me after one or two uses (jade and rose quartz) but not this one which I’ve had for years.
-
I also have been obsessed with the Bio Beauty Cryo roller since I got it. It’s great for summertime because you freeze it and totally feels like a cryo facial. It also is great for sore muscles. There are lots of benefits to cryo rolling — just read about it. Also double sided for face and then smaller areas like in-between eyes and under eyes.
5. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is super crucial to not only fight aging but also to protect from skin cancer. Living in SoCal, I wear sunscreen every single day, even during the winter., even when I am just at home (sun comes through windows too!). My go-to sunscreens are:
-
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen for daily wear. I love how it it invisible and glides on smoothly and almost acts like a primer. I use this one when I’m indoors and not planning to be out that much since it is SPF 40.
-
Elta MD I’ve been using for years. Dermatologist recommended and I like how it doesn’t leave a white face like others do. Non-pore clogging and SPF 47.
-
Skinceuticals SPF50 for days I know I will be outdoors a lot. This one is lightweight, slightly tinted and I love their products.

About Christine Kong
“Self confidence is the best outfit. Own it.”
My name is Christine Kong and I started Daily Kongfidence in September 2015 on Instagram as a way to showcase my style based on inspirations gathered from daily life. I chose this name as a reminder to be confident in your choices and in who you are no matter what you wear. As a mother of three, I want to teach by example to create your own definition of beauty and to have courage to confidently express yourself. Born and raised in Southern California, my style is pretty representative of the relaxed, west coast vibe. I have a strong appreciation for aesthetics and minimalism and use statement pieces to enhance my basic style. I predominantly invest in quality pieces for bags and shoes since I will wear these forever, but seek affordable items to add more edge, trend, and impact in creating my looks. I would like to think that I don’t lean towards any particular brands because I love finding clothes in unexpected stores, but my typical go-to stores are Zara, TopShop, Revolve, Nordstrom, and Shopbop. Through this blogging journey, I’ve surprised myself by realizing I am not compartmentalized into one category of style. I like to wear what works for me and I make it work. I have been blown away by the connections I’ve made with so many brands and am excited to inspire you with my love of fashion and lifestyle. @dailykongfidence
