I Tried To Eat Like 7 Celebrities This Week, And It Was Actually Delicious

Featured Image Source

Hi, I’m Markey, and I love to try different routines every week. This week, I tried to copy different celebrities’ eating styles. Now, realize that I didn’t say celebrity “diets.” I was careful in approaching this article because I didn’t want to eat like a model, an actress, or an influencer. There’s nothing wrong with them, but I didn’t want to be too restrictive with my food this week. I wanted to see if one of these famous eating habits would radically transform how I ate or simply give me the inspiration I needed to transform my mundane eating style.

I didn’t count calories or measure my body with this routine. I simply went into the kitchen and selected new and fun foods every day. I found out something really encouraging by doing these routines: there are a lot of celebrities who celebrate food. Yes, many celebrities do go on a detox or weight loss diet if they’re about to perform or act, but they’re still real people who want a pizza or some cake every now and then.

So here are some of my favorite celebrities’ eating habits!

Day 1: Elizabeth Taylor

Who she was:

Actress from the 40’S, business woman, and humanitarian.

Her food habits

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, bacon, and a mimosa.

Lunch: Hollowed-out French bread filled with peanut butter and bacon.

Dinner: Fried chicken, peas, biscuits, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn bread, trifle, and Jack Daniels.

My Review

Elizabeth Taylor is a queen and I stand by that. I love what she ate because it didn’t seem like your typical celebrity eating style at all. She even started her day by indulging in alcohol first thing in the morning. I did a generous mixture of everything, but I ate my eggs and bacon for “breakfast” at lunch time. I didn’t have French bread, but I did have peanut butter, so I had the classic peanut butter sandwich for a quick snack later in the day. I finished it all off with fried chicken, biscuits, and peas. It really made me miss my southern hometown. I subbed out the trifle and Jack Daniels for some Bailey’s, which I think was pretty fair.

I enjoyed today a lot. It was similar to what I usually eat, with just a few differences sprinkled in. It also was comforting to know that celebrities and famously beautiful people like Elizabeth Taylor don’t necessarily eat “healthy” foods every day — they usually eat whatever they feel like having that day!

Day 2: Victoria Beckham

Who she is:

Formerly known as Posh Spice in the Spice Girls, singer, songwriter, and fashion designer.

Her food habits:

Breakfast: 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a fresh lemon in boiling water. She then eats traditional breakfast food like smoothies or cereal. Her ‘Green Monster’ breakfast smoothie has apples, kiwi, lemon, spinach, broccoli, and chia seeds in it.

Lunch: 3-4 avocados on toasted Ezekiel bread or homemade multi-seed loaf.

Dinner: Salmon.

My Review

These foods were pretty easy for me. Apple cider vinegar is not the most scrumptious choice on the menu, but you get over the taste pretty quickly. I actually love cereal, so I was pleasantly surprised that Posh Spice and I have something in common. I also made a smoothie like hers but I hate kiwi, so I avoided that. I finished the day off with some amazing salmon and avocados with garlic toast for dinner.

This celebrity routine also seemed pretty familiar to my normal eating habits. It didn’t mention any snacks and I work 100 feet away from my kitchen, so I did grab a little granola bar mid-day. Beckham’s food isn’t crazy or odd or weird at all. It makes sense and it’s very easily obtainable for someone like me.

Day 3: Jessie James Decker

Who she is:

Songwriter, Founder and CEO of Kittenish, and author of Just Feed Me

Her food habits

Breakfast: She intermittent fasts, so it’s usually coffee and stevia in the morning followed by some fresh honey wheat bread and butter.

Lunch: A bowl with tuna on top of a salad, hummus, and pita chips.

Dinner: Pasta, chicken, tacos, gumbo, or lasagna. Anything that allows Decker and her husband to get creative in the kitchen.

Dessert: A must! Usually chocolate-covered almonds or chocolate chip cookies.

My Review

This routine fit into my lifestyle almost too easily. I enjoyed a nice, hot cup of coffee in the morning along with my quiet time. When it got to lunch time, I toasted some bread and smothered it with butter. I wasn’t too hungry today, so I went with the hummus and pita chips for a late lunch. I finished off the day with some amazing lasagna that my partner’s mother made. It was gorgeous and so filling. My partner celebrated his birthday the other day, so we went with leftover chocolate cake for dessert.

This celebrity eating routine made me feel happy. If I wanted to, I could have had a bit heavier of a meal earlier in the day, but I didn’t feel like that was necessary. I like that she intermittently fasts, but it doesn’t seem like she’s actually dieting — she’s just eating what she wants!

Day 4: Katharine Hepburn

Who she is:

American actress of film, stage, and television.

Her food habits

According to The Observer, Hepburn was “not a vitamin or health-food nut.” She ate a lot of sugar and “Anything else I damn well please. I deny myself nothing. I think what you should eat is perfectly obvious. I just don’t care to eat those things, so I don’t. We live in an era of making a great deal out of very little. They make a big deal out of diets. I’ve never been on a diet in my life.”

My Review

This is what I wanted to focus on in this article. Celebrities and stars who were so revered for their beauty but also so down to earth. Katharine Hepburn probably dieted, but she didn’t hate her life when she did it. From the interview, it seems like she ate “healthy-ish” and didn’t let anything get her down.

Thankfully, I was traveling the day I ate like Hepburn, so I could really take advantage of eating anything I damn well pleased. I got Chick-Fil-A for breakfast and saved it for lunch, half a crab cake and some coleslaw for a snack, and then ended the day with my favorite Mexican street tacos. I didn’t feel any guilt and I definitely wasn’t on some sort of diet.

Day 5: Chris Pratt

Who he is:

American actor and comedian.

His food habits

Protein: Eggs, chicken breast, fish, and steak.

Carbs: Broccoli, spinach, other green vegetables, sweet potatoes, brown rice, steel-cut oatmeal, and berries.

Fat: Organic butter, coconut oil, avocado, and nuts.

My Review

I have to say that I never thought spinach was a carb. Pratt’s eating routine is the most restrictive on the list, but I still wanted to try it. People can celebrate their bodies and love food even if they have stricter eating routines. This diet is basically the Daniel Diet Pratt went on when he started to lose weight for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy

I wasn’t a fan of today. It started off strong with breakfast/lunch. I made an omelette (it was really just 2 eggs and spinach) in coconut oil. I thought about having oatmeal, but I wasn’t too sure about any spices Pratt used, so I backed off having plain oatmeal. I made a smoothie with mixed berries, spinach, and almond milk — it said he ate nuts, so I figured the milk was fine. I didn’t even try to have a snack today and went to dinner where I made sweet potato chips, salmon, and steamed broccoli.

I don’t think this celebrity diet is sustainable. I know people with special diets go out all the time, but I felt restricted to my house because I didn’t want to go out for dinner and find I couldn’t eat anything. I’m glad the diet works for him though!

Day 6: Julia Roberts

Who she is:

Actress best known for her roles in Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, and Hook.

Her food habits:

Breakfast: A full breakfast of sourdough toast, avocado, eggs, fruit, and coffee.

Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken.

Dinner: Salmon, brown rice, more avocado.

Dessert: Cookies!

My Review

Everything Pratt’s routine lacked, Roberts’ makes up for. Breakfast was great and filling. I had avocado toast and eggs, and cooked the eggs in butter. I grabbed some fruit as a midday snack. I mixed lunch and dinner together because I’d had salmon the night before, so I made a salad with avocado, grilled chicken, and brown rice. I was full after both meals, but it didn’t feel like I was eating anything unhealthy. Oh, and I surely did eat a chocolate covered marshmallow cookie (or two) for dessert!

I loved this celebrity eating style. There weren’t a lot of unhealthy elements, but it didn’t seem half as restrictive as Pratt’s. I liked everything I ate and while I will always sub white rice out for brown rice, it was a fine exchange for the night.

Day 7: Audrey Hepburn

Who she was:

Actress, fashion icon, and humanitarian. Some of her famous recipes are outlined in Audrey at Home: Memories of My Mother’s Kitchen

Her food habits

Breakfast: Brown bread with jam.

Lunch: Lean meat or pasta with fresh produce.

Dinner: Chicken soup with veggies.

Dessert: Chocolate and Scotch.

My Review

The last day! I had to end this celebrity eating challenge with an iconic name. Audrey Hepburn was a tiny human but her food habits don’t really show it. She wasn’t that restrictive at all with what she ate, so she has my vote. I started off my morning with coffee and then around 1, I got some toast with jelly and fruits on the side (fruits are fresh produce, right?). I also added some eggs on the side because food is good.

I love chicken soup, so I was almost too ready to have that dinner staple for the night. I settled in to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with a steaming cup of soup and a side salad. I’m pretty sure my partner thought I was insane because it was such a hot day. I then ended my night (and this challenge!) with my favorite Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Truffle and some Bailey’s, and I was done!

I’ve learned two valuable lessons from trying all these different celebrity eating habits.

1. Celebrities, even the most famous and most good-looking, are people too. They like their alcohol and cookies. So it’s okay if I do too.

2. A specific eating routine is a winner if I feel like I am full after I eat and energized throughout my day. I didn’t want to do this challenge to find the secret to a tiny waist or some new restriction I would fall in love with. I wanted to test out different foods and celebrate my body and my meal times with these celebrities.
