Summer’s Top 3 IT Bags Are Here

Since I’ve been staying at home,

My purse collection has been pretty much gathering dust on the shelf. But that’s soon to change as Summer is just around the corner and it’s time to bring out the Summer bags. Summer bags play double duty– often carrying around our farmer market finds, a swimsuit for impromptu stops at the beach, lip balm and sunscreen (musts), a water bottle (reusable of course), and whatever we are currently reading- they need to put in the work and still look cute doing it. Summer is about spontaneity and we need to be ready for anything. Here are three of my favorite styles of Summer bag and where to find them.

The Do It All Tote

Not sure what the day has in store but know it’s going to be busy- bring your large Summer carryall. Sturdy handles and plenty of storage are the hallmarks of this style of bag, allowing you to pack everything from a picnic lunch to all your beach or lake essentials. Perfect for farmers market mornings and afternoon sunbathing combined. Never be without your extra swimsuit or snacks, that high SPF sunblock and a sweater for when the evening turns chilly. You’re prepared for it all.

The Feelgood Fringe

When you want to look put together, but a structured bag feels too, well “structured” for a fun in the sun Summer day- grab a woven fringe bag and let your inner sun goddess shine. Perfect for festivals in the park, outdoor concerts, basically anything. Holds just enough- your wallet, phone, keys, gloss. Pair this bag with a Summer dress or cutoffs and a cute top- it looks equally good dressed up or down.

The Basket Case

I love a basket bag, I highlighted this Loeffler Randall one last year and this year I had to buy this cute pom-pom one as soon as I saw it featured in the Halogen x Atlantic Pacific line. It’s SO fun and perfect for colorful Summer beachwear or adding that pop of color to a white Summer dress. Basket bags are perfect for garden parties, bridal or baby showers, Summer weddings, cocktail parties or just fun daytime events. And they are the perfect size for sneaking a champagne split bottle (picnic for one, yes?).
