Glazed Old Fashioned Buttermilk Doughnut Bundt Cake
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 + ½ cups oat flour
-
1 + ½ cups sugar
-
1 tsp nutmeg
-
1 + ½ tsp baking powder
-
½ tsp baking soda
-
½ tsp salt
-
1 + ¾ cups buttermilk
-
¾ cup vegetable oil
-
3 large eggs
-
2 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze:
-
2 cups powdered sugar
-
~5 Tbsp water
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
-
Prepare a bundt pan by carefully buttering the entire surface and dusting it with flour.
-
Whisk the dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl and the wet ingredients in another bowl. Add them together and whisk until they’re just combined, but don’t overmix.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45-50 minutes. Set the pan on a cooling rack for 15 minutes.
-
Invert the cake and once it’s safely out of the pan, gently flip it back over so the rough side is facing up. Let the cake cool completely.
-
Make the glaze. Whisk the sugar with just enough water to make it pourable.
-
Once the cake is cool, brush the glaze on it.
