I have long coveted the Balmain blazer dress for its elegance and sophisticated simplicity. But I have yet to pull the trigger even though I just found it on sale for 50% off with the link here. I’ve just second guessed myself too much and by the time I decide I need it, it always sells out. Every season, I hesitate too long, held up by the 2k+ price tag.
So imagine my excitement when I received this close match in the mail from one of my favorite budget brands, Bardot. This blazer dress had the puff sleeves, the gold buttons, the double breasted tailoring – I could achieve a very similar look for only $149!! (And – it’s now on sale for $71.40 on Neiman Marcus Last Call)
It did not disappoint. A deep plunging neckline, statement sleeves, and eye catching gold hardware make this a bold dress made to be noticed. I paired it with gold accessories including the Medusa gold accented Versace purse (similar purse here), Dior booties, and these large Chanel lion earrings (cheaper alternative here) which mirror the size and shape of the buttons.
This dress length might be a bit more Cher from Clueless than work-ready, but paired with patterned tights it could be made more conservative. It’s perfect for a work dinner or date night, and would be a multi functional piece to pack for an urban getaway. I can’t wait to get out of quarantine and wear this a few new ways. I think a blazer dress is a great addition to your wardrobe and this one hits every check mark for me, but if you want options, I’ve linked a bunch here as well.
