Independence Day is this Saturday and I’m sure many of us are looking forward to *safely* getting together with a small group of friends and family. Although I discourage gathering in crowded public spaces or throwing parties, this is still a celebration to look forward to and dress up for. Wearing patterns of the American flag complete with stars and stripes can be a bit of an overkill for some of us, or we just don’t have pieces like that readily available to wear.
Today we’re pulling inspiration from some celebrity styles that incorporate the red, white, and blue theme. We can deviate away from the bright primary hues of these three colors and incorporate more subtle shades. Even just incorporating a red lip or a navy blue clutch can make a major July 4th style statement without being tacky, AND these pieces are transitional so you can rock these outfits on regular days without looking like you’re (obviously) headed to a 4th of July family BBQ.
A fun, flowy option for July 4th celebrations! We are especially loving the deeper-hued reds and indigo blues for a piece that can transition into night. Olivia is wearing a babydoll silhouette which is a major summer trend right now.
We love how Gemma is pairing this crisp white mini dress with a red and blue studded crossbody and patterned head scarf. If you don’t have a utility mini dress, a white mini shirt dress will also do, belted at the waist with a pop of red or blue.
We love how easy it is get creative with this combo, and it’s the ultimate business chic 4th of July look. Nicole’s white blouse is adorned with black panels and metal trims, and her blue pencil skirt is figure hugging. The sheen of both pieces also adds a stylish element to her overall look. You can play up your white blouse with ruffles and asymmetrical cuts or keep it simple and casual. For the skirt, you can choose a patterned piece or go with a classic denim. The choice is yours and it’s probably already in your closet.
We’re inspired by Priyanka’s blue fitted number, so we reimagined it as a denim dress perfect for July 4th fun. Denim is a staple and exudes effortless, classic styling, plus the denim dress is offered in so many silhouettes and cuts now you’re bound to find one you’ll wear over and over again. Another alternative is switching your dress for a denim romper/jumpsuit. Both styles pair beautifully with florals so don’t forget to mix in some whites and reds in your accessories and of course, a red lip.
We’ve translated Naomi’s high-fashion Winter look into the perfect July 4th brunch outfit. Independence Day style wouldn’t be complete with stripes – so pull out your favorite blue striped top, like a button-down shirt or a boat neck everyday tee, and pair with a feminine lace maxi skirt. Opt for white/ivory colored culottes for a pants alternative. Tasteful, classy, and chic.
Let us know in the comments which celebrity style you’re inspired by and what you’ll be wearing for 4th of July! Have fun and stay safe!
