These Grilling Tools & Tips Will Make You A BBQ Pro This Summer

Everybody likes a nicely seared burger, and now that summer’s here (bringing warm nights), those steaks and veggies can be thrown on a grill for mouth-watering char marks. And with vaccinations rising and a smaller chance of spreading COVID, time with friends and family is bound to increase, too. What does this mean? It’s BBQ season.

Maybe you’re a grilling pro who already knows how to make a delicious summer dinner once you pull out the grill. But if you need some tips or are simply looking for upgrades to your standard grills and utensils, we’ve got you covered. grilling tools

8 Grilling Tips

Before we jump into all the necessary grilling tools, take these tips into consideration to make the best grilled food ever. grilling tools

1. Know the differences between your charcoal grill and your gas grill. While they do the same thing, they take different routes to get there. Learn how to pre-heat with each and how to get the ideal level of char.

2. Clean your grill between meals. Nobody wants to taste a mixture of foods that just don’t work together. For example, who wants the taste of tuna on their pork skewers? Unless you’re going for that, wipe it down with a metal brush. grilling tools

3. Preheat the grill with the lid closed for 10-15 minutes. This will burn off any bits of old food, allow for proper searing, and minimize food sticking to the grate.

4. Stop turning your food. By letting it sit, you’ll get the most caramelization out of it. Once food stops sticking and has browned enough on one side, you’re good to flip. grilling tools

5. Treat each ingredient properly. Overcooking and drying is a regular occurrence with barbecuing, so pay attention as you grill.

6. Invest in good grilling utensils. We have our suggestions later in the article, but we can’t emphasize enough – cheap utensils will wear out much faster than high-quality utensils will.

7. Control the temperature. Plenty of grills have thermometers, so follow them as a guideline to avoid overheating. You should also have a meat thermometer that goes directly into the food, because the grill thermometer isn’t measuring that.

8. Rest the meat. If you watch shows like Chopped, you know that one of the biggest f*ck-ups is not letting the meat rest, so all the delicious juices slip out. Take it off the grill and let it be!
