Brand Spotlight: Credo Beauty Is Clean And Cares About Your Body

Featured Image Source

Credo Beauty stocks and sells products made by manufacturers who not only believe in the quality of their own products, but who also understand the importance of using organic, wild-crafted, and natural ingredients. The brand believes this is the bare minimum requirement upon which a beauty brand should operate.

The brand weeds through the promises of companies who claim they use “green” ingredients, when in fact they may simply change the name of the ingredient to make it sound greener or use something less expensive than the real thing. Credo Beauty promises they won’t carry or sell any product made in such a manner.

What makes them different? They don’t just say so; they back up what they say with actions.

The company’s mission statement reads in part: “Credo’s passion to change business-as-usual led us to define clean, and establish the highest standards in beauty retail.”

To contradict Marge from The Simpsons, who famously said “We can’t afford to shop at any store with a philosophy, Credo carries great clean beauty products at several price points.

Herbivore Botanicals Jasmine Body Oil

credo beautyI took this jasmine body oil with me on a month-long trip to Lithuania and Italy, and my skin LOVED IT. Deeply hydrating without being messy, and floral without smelling like a funeral, it’s exactly what my skin needed during a multi-country vacation. Highly recommend it.

Ursa Major Bright and Easy 3-Minute Flash Mask

face mask

Most masks are goopy, thick, batter-like concoctions (which I love). But sometimes you need something a little lighter. The 3-Minute Flash Mask by Ursa Major is light and goes on with subtle, dripless shine – which works well for those afternoons when you’re lounging on the couch and doing a bit of self-care.

Exa Jump Start Smoothing Primer

credo beauty

Okay, so I don’t wear foundation. I know. I’m sorry.  But I DO wear primer. It’s a way to make my skin glowy (or matte, depending on my mood) without adding pigmentation. This one by Exa is a cult fave that also claims to protect your skin from blue light (you know, the light emitted from our computers and phones).

Rituel de Fille Inner Glow Crème Pigment

credo beauty

Adding this colored creme to your lips makes it look like you’ve “tried.” Even if you’re wearing leggings, a torn hoodie, a haphazard ponytail, and following your doggo around with a pooper scooper, a pigmented lip tells everyone, “Yeah, I may be up to my elbows in dog poo right now, but catch me in 30 minutes…I could be washing dishes or I could be going to lunch…you never know.”

Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Balm

CREDO BEAUTY

I keep a jar of Egyptian Magic balm at my desk. It’s my go-to to moisturize my cuticles, tap on my cheekbones before a Zoom meeting to look a bit more refreshed, or warm between my fingers and smooth along my hair. This Wild Rose Balm looks like it will do everything my existing jar will do, but with the added bonus of a fab rose scent.

EVOLVh UltraRepair Reconstructing Masque

hair mask

I’m convinced hair masks are sorcery — something about all that dryness-quenching, shaft-smoothing, emulsifying gloopy-GOODNESS leaves me befuddled (in the best way). This mask aims to quench even the frizziest of hair, something reviewers (100 as of this writing)  seem to love.

EleVen by Venus Williams Unrivaled Sun Serum SPF 35

SUN SERUM SPF

You can’t have a list of skincare products without including sunscreen. This one made in partnership with tennis legend Venus Williams looks promising. There are some celeb collabs that don’t make sense on the surface, but this partnership is a no-brainer. Who knows better than Venus Williams about making a sunscreen that stands up to sweat and activity? Reviewers love how the serum doesn’t leave a white cast on brown skin (typically an issue with most sunscreens).

Pholk Beauty Daily Detox Face Wash

daily detox face wash

You’ve gotta love a brand with the message: “soul food for the skin.” This face wash aims to unclog pores and clarify skin, a perfect start (or end) to the day.

Heretic Flower Porn Eau de Parfum

flower perfume

F*cking flowers. What’s not to love? Plus, all the reviews of this eau de parfum are 5 stars except for one. And that one review is 4 stars. So basically, you’re guaranteed to at least enjoy the scent (if not fall in love with it).
