It wouldn’t be the start of the holiday season without my Bath and Body Works candles. I truly believe that Bath and Body Works have candle-making down to an art and they successfully capture the spirit of each season in their candles. Full disclosure, I worked there for exactly 11 days, so I’m kind of an expert.

This week, I want to get into the fall-iday spirit, and there’s no better way to do that than to go to Bath and Body Works and smell every seasonal candle in the store. Did I get strange looks? Sure. Was it worth the slight headache? Yeah! Did I walk out with a ton of candles even though I already have a full-sized moving box dedicated to candles and I absolutely don’t need more? Oh, heck yes. I want to share the best Bath and Body Works candles this season – here’s my verdict.
Fall E-scent-ials
Mountain Teakwood
@maybmeg It smells like loneliness. #fyp #foryou #bathandbodyworks #candle #mahoganyteakwood
Fragrance notes of crisp mountain air, rich teakwood, and fresh eucalyptus.
Do you know those candles that smell like attractive men? Just me? Well, this candle smells like an attractive man. Take that as you will. I would put this candle in my mountain house because it just gives that mountain feeling.
Harvest Gathering

Fragrance notes of freshly picked apples, autumn berries, and clove buds.
If Pumpkin Bonfire was fall in a candle, this is a farm in a candle. It smells like a farm. But a good farm. Think of a romanticized farm morning with no animals and only fresh food.
Sweater Weather

Fragrance notes of fresh sage, juniper berry, aromatic eucalyptus, and fresh woods.
Sweater Weather is one of Bath and Body Works’ recurring scents for a reason. I think it’s the smell I associate the most with Bath and Body Works. It has an autumnal, woodsy feel to it that makes me think of fall.
Baked Goods
Spiced Cranberry Toffee
View this post on Instagram
Fragrance notes of rich toffee, fresh cranberries, and swirled with caramel.
This candle smells like my childhood. It’s sweet, so if you don’t like your candles to smell like desserts, steer clear. But you can smell the toffee and the rich undertones of the caramel. The smell of the toffee allows the candle to smell sweet, but not overpowering.
Strawberry Pound Cake
@xroee Little #Fall #Candle Haul! 😍😩 #BathAndBodyWorks #ILoveBathAndBodyWorks #MarshmallowFireside is the BEST!!! #ILoveCandles #FallCandles #FlauntItChallenge
Fragrance notes of freshly picked strawberries, golden shortcake, and whipped cream.
I might be turning into someone who likes baked-good candles. I love this scent. The tartness of the strawberries balances the pound cake out artfully and even though all of the fragrance notes are food-based, it doesn’t smell overpowering or sickeningly sweet.
Sweet Treats
Raspberry Mimosa

Fragrance notes of sweet raspberries, rosé sorbet, and a splash of champagne.
I love this candle. It smells sweet, but the champagne allows a little tartness to come through and not make it smell like My Little Pony. You can smell every note in this and I think they hit the nail on the head with this fall, but not too fall smell.
Marshmallow Fireside
@sorayareamon My mom would sell her soul for marshmallow fireside candles😔 #obsesion
Fragrance notes of toasted marshmallows, smoldering woods, fire-roasted vanilla, and crystallized amber.
If you were going to steer away from any dessert scents, I would suggest you make an exception for this one. Both I and my partner (who is not a B&BW connoisseur) like that it has dessert notes without being overly sweet. The amber and smoldering woods scents did a good job of balancing it out.
Pumpkin Spice Latte

Fragrance notes of pumpkin pie spice, freshly brewed espresso, homemade whipped cream, a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar, and natural essential oils.
Yes, even Bath and Body Works has caught onto the PSL trend! I had no hope for this one, but it smelled like the perfect baked good and I’m honestly all for it. I wouldn’t say it smells like the iconic PSL, so if you want the coffee scent you might be disappointed. That being said, it has a rich flavor that smells like a sweet fall bakery.
Fresh Picked
Pumpkin Apple

Fragrance notes of red delicious apple, fall pumpkin, fresh ground cinnamon, and clove buds.
This is one of the freshest-smelling candles this season. It has the light musk that fall scents usually have, but the apple gives it a nice kick as well. The candle is a little strong, but if you have a big room and light it infrequently, you’ll be set.
Blackberries and Basil
View this post on Instagram
Fragrance notes of fresh blackberries, sparkling champagne, and basil.
Bath and Body Works killed it on the fruit smells this year. While it is pretty strong, the candle smells exactly like blackberries with a darker hint that comes from the basil. The champagne smell does well to complement the berries while adding a lighter tone.
Pumpkins, Please!
Fall Festival

Fragrance notes of fresh pumpkin, spiced cinnamon, and sweet maple almond butter.
You can really smell the almond undertone in this candle. When we walked into the store, the guy working there told me that this was his favorite scent of the season and we could tell why. The candle isn’t overpowering at all and it smells great.
Pumpkin Bonfire

Fragrance notes of white pumpkin, a bundle of clove buds, and glowing embers.
If I were to explain autumn to someone who has never experienced it, I would get them this candle. The rich notes combined with the white pumpkin really make it fall in a candle.
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin

Fragrance notes of warm cinnamon, fresh ground clove, vanilla cream, and brown sugar.
I love this smell. It’s autumnal without being too in-your-face about it. This makes a great hostess gift for the holidays or a subtle background smell in general.
Personal Favorites
Leaves
View this post on Instagram
Fragrance notes of crisp red apple, golden nectar, and warm clove spice.
Absolutely hands down my favorite Bath and Body Works candle of all time. Leaves has the deep undertones of rich berries and fruit that are so often associated with autumn, but with a layer of fresh and crisp apple on top.
Palo Santo
@cemeterystrut Palo santo bath and body works candle ✨#bathandbodyworks #candle #candlereviews #fragrance #palosanto
Fragrance notes of Palo Santo wood, warm amber, and soft musk.
This candle. So rich, so warm, it’s like a hug in a candle. The woody scent isn’t overpowering and it’s just enough to hint at autumn.
Autumn Day

Fragrance notes of crisp green apple, fig, white birch, and cedar.
This was one of my favorites. I love the crisp smell that the green apple gave, considering the majority of the apple-scented candles were red apples. The fig also gave it a depth that scent it over the edge and made it one of my favorites.
And it’s now officially autumn! Are you excited about these scents? What is your favorite Bath and Body Works fall candle? Comment below!
